Here are some important points to consider before applying to be an volunteer instructor's assistant:

• Are you able to make a six-month commitment?

• Can you come once a week, on the same day each week?

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the natural beauty and well-being of trees, plants and trails on a ranch where children and adults with disabilities receive therapeutic horsemanship training and outdoor education. Specific duties include: watering, desert plants and shrubs, minor weeding and tree-trimming, maintaining safe riding trails by monitoring on a weekly basis for litter, debris or low-hanging branches.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Love of the outdoors, concern for the natural environment. Good character, dependability, punctuality, ability to work independently yet accept direction from supervisor. Ability to safely use gardening and basic landscaping tools. Good health, ability to bend, reach and lift.

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in basic gardening and yard maintenance.

TIME REQUIRED
One or two mornings per week for 2 to 3 hours. Hours available: Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

TRAINING PROVIDED
Tour of the ranch facility and trails. Orientation to ranch tools and equipment.
